Get ready to design kids! Gather your pencils, pens and markers and make them unique with Crayola Creations Thread Wrapper. I had a hands on experience with the Crayola Creations Thread Wrapper. While at a blogger conference I was able to get a little creative, which I love, and design two unique markers myself. I never would have thought the wrapping thread could allow me to be so creative. Now that it’s the new school season, kids always want to return with something new or different. This cool product from Crayola is the perfect addition to your child’s craft/creative area. They can use the included thread or upcycle old thread to give their favorite things a custom color makeover! They can even color their own thread. Like Crayola says, the possibilities are endless! Visit www.crayola.com for this product and more.

Have your kids joined the CHARM IT! Crayola Creativity Design-A-Charm Contest? If they enjoy designing or creating then this may be a fun contest for them to enter. Charm It is picking 12 lucky winners to have their custom charm turned into a real charm that they’ll be able to actually wear. It’s easy to join and fun to design. So Family was invited to the CHARM IT! and Crayola Design a Charm party at Dylans Candy Bar in New York City. I had so much fun talking to kids about their designs and hearing all of their amazing ideas. I also checked out some of the charms from last year’s winners. The design possibilities are endless, so tell your kids to get busy because they only have until May 6, 2015 12PM EST to get their designs in. Watch our Charm It party recap video with the kids, so they can get a little inspiration while they design. Enjoy!

Last weekend was all about kid’s fashion, kid’s street style and the hottest designers in kid’s wear. petiteParade had two full days of show stopping, high-end kid’s designers. This was the 4th or 5th season that So Family covered Kids Fashion Week in New York City. We wait months for this weekend to come. It’s not only about the designers, it’s about the mini models and all of the cool kid’s street fashion that comes out to the shows. I can’t resist covering these petite cuties. petiteParade presented fashion from Alivia Simone, Imoga, Bonnie Young, Oil and Water, Chloe, Parsons, RUUM, Clarks, Dillonger, Aria and Charm. We loved it all, but of course I had some favorites. The pigtails, knee-high socks and prints on the Alivia Simone runway were absolutely fabulous. Oil and Water had me smiling from ear to ear when the models walked out in the yellow Hunter Rain Boats, slicked hair and then just bought out the fabulousness of the rain coats with those cute umbrellas. Those were just two of my favs. Watch So Family’s petiteParade video recap now and tell me what your favorites are.

It’s a Kids Fashion Friday! I’m so excited to re-introduce Isossy Children to everyone. This global clothing line for children has taken children’s fashion to a different level. I interviewed the founder and designer Amanda Rabor over a year ago. You can read that interview here, Global Children’s Clothing Straight From London – Isossy Children. Now I’m even more in love with the designs, especially for little girls. I have a special thing for girls dresses. Isossy Children uses beautiful colors, stand out prints and stylish designs when designing for their children’s line. Last week I had a little fun with some of my favorite designs from the girls line, that are available on their site now. My niece was the perfect model for So Family’s first mini photo shoot.
My niece was very involved in the entire process. She helped pick out the designs we shot, her hair style and her poses. We decided on the Glitter Dress, Padora Dressand the Sassy Playsuit to highlight in our shoot (see images below). The theme of the shoot was Summer Time Fun. I wanted to show how easy it is for girls to enjoy the Summer, have fun and look super sweet while doing it. Isossy Children’s designs helped us accomplish this. Please enjoy our mini photo shoot below.
Isossy Children recently had another amazing photo shoot with Creative Soul Photography, you can view those images here, Isossy Photo Shoot. To purchase Isossy Children or to see all of their designs for girls and boys visit their website, www.isossychildren.com. Which image is your favorite look? Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I want to make the next photo shoot even better.

Have a pre-teen girly girl at home? Does she love to dress up? Is she forming her own style and opinions about her fashion? Well, she just may fall in love with the color and fun that Juniorbeads offers girls. The same genius mom who founded Chewbeads for teething babies has launched a line of beads for girls. Junior Beads allows girls the chance to create their very own baubles style and of course they will be on trend. They can layer the bangles and necklaces and collect them in different colors and styles.
Junior beads are colorful and fun because they look like gum balls, but more importantly they are safe for kids. They are made from FDA-approved silicone, free of BPA, phthalates, and lead. So, parents can feel comfortable knowing their children are wearing a product that is mommy-approved. I love a product that kids can wear and have fun with while being safe. I can see my 6-year-old niece rocking these. She’s such a girly girl. This is a must have item for summer for her. Too cute! What do you think fo the Juniorbeads? You can see the entire collection at, www.juniorbeads.com.
Do your girls like wearing jewelry? Are there any children’s jewelry lines that you currently like? Have you ever heard of JuniorBeads or ChewBeads?
