An evening of low-cal cocktails, food, conversation and tips for family travel, it doesn’t get better than that.  I joined an amazing group of ladies at the Momtrends Travel Trends event held at Polarn O. Pyret in New York City.  It was an amazing time talking to savvy mom and family bloggers at the event and of course finding out what’s trending in family travel.  I love events like this one, because I get the scoop on some absolutely fabulous services, products, meet brands and the best part is I get to share it with you all.  So, this time around I even did a quick recap video of the evening’s event.  Watch the video recap below.  This video is a part of the Out and About with Monica J series (more videos coming soon).

The evening’s event was held at Polarn O. Pyret’s Tribeca location in New York City.   They are the leading children’s clothing brand in Sweden and they are extremely popular here in the states.  They are known for their signature stripes, quality children’s clothing with practical designs and fun colors and prints.  I wanted one of everything for my niece in the girls section.

The travel tips shared definitely made sense for families.  Packing right, planning ahead, making vacation about you too (not just the kids), saving on transportation and the best fashion options for the ladies and kids when traveling were all a part of the evening’s conversation and small presentations.  Below is a quick overview of what I learned from each sponsor in attendance.

Sponsors:

Homeaway.com – This company makes it easy for you to book the perfect vacation for your family or friends.  It’s all about choosing what’s perfect for you and your family.  Pick your vacation rental today and start planning for your feel good vacation.  Visit their website for more information, www.homeaway.com.

Poalrn O. Pyret – This company believes in good looking clothes that let children be children.  They have been offering Swedish families the very best in children’s clothing and now they are offering the same to families in the U.S.  They are celebrating their 3rd year in the states.  They opened the doors of their Tribeca store for the Travel trends event and gave us tips on packing for children when traveling.  Always bring clothing that is easy to pack, wash, layer and create comfort.  They are currently promoting their Summer camp line for kids.  Shop now and view their entire line on their website, www.polarnopyretusa.com.

Travel Sort –  This company finds you luxury hotels and vacation options at wholesale prices.  I really enjoyed listening to Hilary from travelsort.com, because she incorporated her experiences with her family into the presentation.  She shared what she does to save money and travel in luxury.  I have to say I was inspired and motivated to figure out how I can find luxury options for wholesale prices.  Hilary share some of her travel tips when traveling with kids on their website, Travel Light with kids Tips.  For more information on traveling in style with your family visit their website at www.travelsort.com.

London Times Fashion – I am officially a fan of London Times Fashion.  The company asked four bloggers (including myself) to wear one of their dresses during the event and model it during the presentation.  I was excited to participate, but I was a little nervous about the modeling.  I am no model, but I love dresses so I couldn’t resist.  I wore the Eyelet Shift Dress.  This dress is perfect for travel.  I kept it folded in my bag during the day, while at work and then when the evening hit I pulled it out and it was ready to wear.  A perfect travel dress, that can be dressed up or down.  It was my first shift dress and I was pleasantly surprised.  I’m a curvy girl and I felt gorgeous in it.  London Times Fashion offers a variety of sizes for every woman.  I’ll be talking about more from London Times on the blog soon.  To see more of their gorgeous dresses visit their website, www.LondonTimesFashion.com.

Bon Affair –   Bon Affair was the beverage sponsor for the evening and their wine spritzers did not disappoint.  These wine spritzers have half the calories of regular wine.  The mini bottles that they have as an option for purchase make for the perfect girls night or moms night in or out.  Summer is quickly approaching us and I’m sure Bon Affair will be a hit at many barbecues and pool parties.  More information about the wine spritzer on their website, www.bonaffair.com.
