It’s Fashion Friday and this one is for the dads, uncles, brothers, sons and all men.  I often highlight the fashion for kids and ladies, but today I’m focusing on the gentlemen.  Macy’s has some stylish options for mens Spring and Summer fashion which are definitely on trend.  I jumped at the opportunity to attend the Macy’s Men’s Style event with Colin Stark from Details magazine at the Herald Square Macy’s in NYC.  I couldn’t miss the opportunity to see what’s on trend for men.  Ladies, I know you want to keep your hubbies and significant others looking good.

Details magazine was on the hunt for an everyday guy with their own individual style to be a feature model in their June/July issue.  The magazine will select 4 men from 4 cities (Miami, New York, Chicago & San Francisco) for this special feature.  During the open casting model search yesterday evening, style expert Colin Stark was on hand to give some style tips for men.  He highlighted April’s Stark Style at the event.  April’s style featured a modern minimalist approach with some basic pieces from Kenneth Cole.  I asked Colin how the fellas can incorporate color into their wardrobe and he mentioned easy ways to do it without over doing it.  Adding a pop of color with a shirt or a blazer is simple and not overpowering.  If you’re wearing bright colors up top then keep it demure on the bottom and don’t be afraid of color.  I love a guy in a blazer and jeans.  The pop of color will give them just a little bit extra, but not too much.  You can find out more about the Details magazine casting calls at Macy’s here.

Do you ever give your husband, significant other, dad, brother or any men style tips?  What style is your fella rocking this Spring/Summer?  Do you like colored jeans for guys?
