I was out and about at the Kids Food Festival this month and I got to try some awesome food, snacks and goodies for kids and the entire family. I attended cooking demos from some amazing chefs, such as Aaron McCargo Jr. and Katie Workman, who both happen to be parents, so they are advocates on healthy eating and living for the family. They showed us how to create simple but delicious meals that not only the kids will like but the adults too. I found some great snacks for your kid’s lunch boxes from Plum Organics and Honey Maid. One of my favorite snacks was from Lifeaway, the ProBugs frozen Kefir push pops. They were yummy. I enjoyed the event with one of my best friends and her niece and nephew. The kids had a blast designing their own chef hats and participating in a kids cooking class with Cricket Azima.
The Kids Food Festival introduces parents to new, related products and services, teaches them new information to benefit their families and gives presentations on the key ingredients for that perfect balance of yummy and good-for-me! The founder is Cricket Azima, an amazing and popular NYC chef and mom who offers kids cooking classes throughout New York City. Here’s what she had to say about the Kids Food Festival;
“The Kids Food Festival™, in partnership with Cooking Light, is a series of 2-day festivals presented by The Creative Kitchen. The weekend of events is a celebration to educate children on how to make balanced food choices, in effort to aid in the prevention of childhood obesity through fun-filled family activities. Events include cooking classes programmed with the James Beard Foundation, live entertainment, the Balanced Plate Scavenger Hunt for kids with goody bag prizes, food samples, huge giveaways, and more!”

I love to eat, so the taste testing was a highlight for me. I met Chef Katie Workman and Chef Aaron McCargo. it was actually my second meeting him and tasting his food. Check out the interview I did with Chef McCargo on breakfast food for the family. Watch Here!
