Do you have children who love to experiemnt with your household products? A little flour here, a little soda there, maybe even a mentos and then BOOM!  “It’s an experiment.”  That’s what they say and although you know it’s healthy for them to explore, experiemnet and discover, you’d rather they have a little more direction when conducting these experiemnts.  Well, I have the answer to your slight dilema.  Intorducing Science Expeditions, from the award winning children’s media brand Little Passports.  Science Expedition is a science-themed series of educational subscription boxes.  And it comes just in time for the Holidays.

This is the answer for your budding little scientist.  It’s specifically designed for children ages 9 and older.  Science Expeditions will be a monthly themed package featuring Little Passports popular characters Sam and Sofia.  I recently attended a launch event for Science Expeditions in New York City.  I was able to get my hands on the 3 experiements that will be featured in the first subscription box, which is set to start shipping in December 2016.  I was engaged and definitely learned new things in the focus areas of magnetic fields, building circuits, rainbow science and more.  This subscription box is definitely filling a void in the subsciption box arena.  Older children are looking to do more, challenge themselves, make predictions, experiement and make discoveries.

Each package will include:

  • Guide and materials for hands-on science experiments
  • 16-page comic book with a glossary and bonus activities
  • A new mystery to solve with Sam and Sofia
  • Achievment badges
  • Access to bonus online videos and science content

During the event I also had a lovely conversation with one of the co-founders of Little Passports, Stella Ma.  Not only did she share her excitment about the launch of Science Expedition, but she also introduced me to all of their educational products.  They have an impressive line of subscriptions, including Little Passports World Edition, USA Edition and Early Explorers, each of which teach kids about world culture and geography.  Learn more about the diverse line and purchase a Holiday gift that will inspire and educate the children in your life.  Learn more at
